AUSTIN'S WHY
Austin McAnena
I’m a 2x cardiac arrest survivor because CPR and an AED saved my life. Before my life changing event, I was a 4-year starter, 3-time All Big Ten selection, and team captain for the Ohio State division 1 soccer team. Sudden cardiac arrest can affect all ages, including those of us who are young and healthy.
AUSTIN'S HEROES
Erick was driving by on a typical Wednesday morning when he saw a stranger, unconscious and in desperate need of help. Having the knowledge and confidence to do CPR, he made a conscious choice to act. Austin's friend Ana called 911, Erick performed CPR, and an AED was used by the firefighters to orchestrate the cardiac chain of survival. Austin's life was saved from tremendous bravery and selfless acts of kindness. And we will be forever grateful.
