Our mission is to save lives through education about Sudden Cardiac Arrest, its risk factors, and the importance of CPR/AED training.
Sudden Cardiac Death will become preventable through education, awareness and comprehensive CPR/AED training in our community.
I’m a 2x cardiac arrest survivor because CPR and an AED saved my life. Before my life changing event, I was a 4-year starter, 3-time All Big Ten selection, and team captain for the Ohio State division 1 soccer team. Sudden cardiac arrest can affect all ages, including those of us who are young and healthy.
Our goal at Heartshield Project is to spread awareness for sudden cardiac arrest and teach CPR and AED usage for as many people I can reach. I am a BLS Instructor with the American Heart Association and provide both BLS provider courses and free CPR/AED demonstrations.
Erick was driving by on a typical Wednesday morning when he saw a stranger, unconscious and in desperate need of help. Having the knowledge and confidence to do CPR, he made a conscious choice to act. My friend Ana called 911, Erick performed CPR, and an AED was used by the firefighters to orchestrate the cardiac chain of survival. My life was saved from tremendous bravery and selfless acts of kindness. And I will be forever grateful.
