Heartshield Project is a non-profit organization with a mission is to save lives from Sudden Cardiac Arrest through community AED donations, bystander response training, and public awareness.

 

Heartshield Project was founded after Austin McAnena collapsed and suffered Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) from an undetected heart condition at 27. With a 10% chance to survive, Austin was saved by a Good Samaritan who went out of his way to perform CPR. Austin’s heart condition went undetected like many others with 1 in 300 youth at risk. Heartshield Project was founded to spread awareness for SCA through community AED donations, bystander response training, and public awareness.
